New Updates on Western Union
Over the years, things have changed, Policies have been created by a new government that has altered the way Western Union works, a few of such updates have been highlighted below;
- You can no more collect your Funds in Dollar, the Bank will exchange it and give you the Naira equivalent
- Some New Banks have been introduced in Nigeria, while some have been closed
- You can now collect your Western Union Funds directly into your Bank Account at the comfort of your Home and Office
How to Receive Western Union directly to your Bank via Quickteller
There are a couple of Banks that support this feature as at the time of my writing and these Banks are StanbicIBTC Bank, GTBank, Polaris Bank or Wema Bank
If you have any of this Bank Accounts, the next thing you would want to do is to Signup for a Quickteller Account if you don’t have one.

After logging into your Quickteller Account, follow these steps to collect your Western Union Funds in Naira into your Bank Account through the Quickteller App or Website
- Click on Send or Receive Money
- Select Western Union amongst the options presented
- Select your Bank amongst the list of Banks shown to you
- You will be asked to choose Currency, choose Naira
- Then click on the Receive Money Now button
- A screen will be presented for you to provide your MTCN details, Please carefully provide these details as received by the Funds Sender
- The Mobile Transfer Control Number (MTCN)
- The Country of the Sender
- Your Account Number where you want the Funds deposited into
- Your Account Type, either Savings or Current
- The Receiving equivalent Amount in Naira as stated by the Sender
- Where you have Receiving Currency, the name of your Bank and the Naira Currency will be displayed, leave it that way
- Provide your First Name as it is in your Bank
- Surname as it is in your Bank too
- Input your Mobile Phone Number
- Then Provide the Test Question as provided to you by the Sender
- Click continue and Verify the Information before finally submitting the Form
Once you submit the form, Quickteller does a two-way check with Western Union and your Bank and all things being equal, the said amount will be deposited into your Bank Account
Kindly note that if the information you provided is not accurate as same as those provided by the Sender, there will be an error and your transaction won’t be successful
