Empowering SMEs and Entrepreneurs in Africa just took a new turn. Tony Elumelu Foundation(TEF) have signed a new partnership deal with United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) to empower entrepreneurs in Africa. The news was released yesterday after the meeting between TEF and UNDP.

In the banking space where everybody is so focused on making money, it seems that United Bank for Africa(UBA) and Tony Elumelu Foundation(TEF) have other plans too. In a recent news that appeared in UBA official Facebook page, they have signed a partnership deal with United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) to empower some 100,000 business owners in Africa.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation have entered an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme that will make it possible to empower some 100,000 business owners in 7 Sahel Africa countries. This empower entrepreneurs in Africa partnership will run for a period of 10 years.

This simply means that more SMEs and entrepreneurs in Africa will now have opportunities to benefit and grow their business. There might be events, seminars and even money to support these entrepreneurs to help them grow their business.

Remember that earlier this year, the Tony Elumelu Foundation gave out $5,000 to more than 100 entrepreneurs in Africa. To empower entrepreneurs in Africa has always been the core of TEF. Signing this new partnership with the United Nations Development Programme further shows how committed TEF is to promoting and supporting SMEs and business owners in Africa.

The United Bank for Africa was so proud of this new achievement that they took to their social media handles and help broadcast this nice move by TEF. This is expected as UBA is like the mother company to TEF. And every month is proud when her son is doing good to people and touching lives.

In the news that appeared in UBA official Facebook page, UBA is proud to support this new development and will they will continues to work with African Export Import Bank-Afreximbank to improve payment systems in Africa to help facilitate trade and industrialization.

Details of this new partnership development to empower entrepreneurs in Africa has not been released. But we hope to see these details rolled out soon and we’ll keep you updated. Also we don’t know how much will be made available for the public for support the SMEs.

TEF gave out some $5,000 to business owners early this year. We hope that this new development will help grow SMEs in Africa countries. If you are a business owner stay up to date with recent info from this new partnership.  You might just benefit from this new partnership.

It is really a good move for TEF to sign this partnership with UNDP. To empower business owners in Africa means creating more jobs which will in turn improve standard of living.
