In response to complaints against the new China tariffs, President Donald Trump fires back at Apple Inc.
In other words, if the tech giant was hoping to elicit sympathy for the potential impact of US tariffs on product prices… Well, it’s not going to get any from the U.S President.
President Donald Trump tweeted that product prices might go up, but insisted that there would be an “easy solution:” make the products in the US. “Start building new plants now,”
Apple has claimed that the Apple Watch, HomePod, Mac mini and accessories would be more expensive in the US as a result of imposing new tariffs on China.
The China’s Tarrif
U.S. government imposed $50 billion worth of tariffs on Chinese goods with another $200 billion in the final stages.
American President, Donald Trump said Friday he is considering another $267 billion of tariffs on China, which analysts said will affect virtually every category of consumer goods, to retaliate against what he calls unfair trade practices.
Responding to this new Tarrif, Apple said:
“Our concern with these tariffs is that the U.S. will be hardest hit, and that will result in lower U.S. growth and competitiveness and higher prices for U.S. consumers,”
The company said further that the tariffs would “show up as a tax on U.S. consumers” and “increase the cost of Apple products that our customers have come to rely on in their daily lives.”
Here are the list of things to be affected by the new Tarrif: HomePod speaker, some Beats speakers, AirPort and Time Capsule internet routers, the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad, and leather cases for the iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Apple Pencil would be affected as well.
The tech company complaints getting too much, President Donald Trump fires back at Apple Inc over the China’s Tarrif. “Start Building New Plants Now”, Trump said.
