Kurt Russell as well as Alexis Bledel, Jeremie Harris and Luke Hemsworth, among other are all set to get a feature in a new movie titled ‘Crypto’.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the film focuses on a young anti-money laundering agent, played by Beau Knapp, who returns to his hometown in New York to investigate a case of corruption and fraud. Russell is playing the father of Knapp’s character, according to press materials.
The film was written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio. And cryptocurrency producers are calling it “a thriller in the vein of The Firm and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” – but with a decidedly cryptocurrency-focused twist.
One among the producers of this Crypto movie said: “Cryptocurrency has captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world but has never been explored in film in such a nuanced and exciting way,”
Crypto may be one of the most high-profile films to date to center on the world of cryptocurrencies. Last year, it was reported that the Coen brothers – the filmmakers behind movies like The Big Lebowski and No Country For Old Men – were working on a movie about the Silk Road, the now-defunct dark market that used bitcoin as its central currency.
This star studded film is currently shooting in New York. However, release date is still yet unknown.
